![]() The combination of tequila, triple sec and lime juice is frequently found in margarita recipes. It’s a higher end label with a higher alcohol content than most other triple secs. Triple sec is a sweet, clear, orange liqueur made with 15%-40% alcohol from sweet and bitter orange peels. The lime juice adds a bit more flavor to the margarita, complementing the fruity blended mango. Look for a higher end brand (trust me it will help with your hangover the next morning) – the label should say 100% agave. When choosing a tequila, I use tequila blanco also known as silver tequila in my margaritas. If you can only find mango juice concentrate, omit the simple syrup since it will typically already be much more sweet. ![]() ![]() Using frozen mangos adds the chill without watering down the cocktail too much and negates the need for a lot of ice cubes. Mangosįrozen, pre-cut mangoes are easy to use in this recipe. ![]() Rather than using lime juice to adhere the Tajin to the rim, the honey adds a natural sweetness that offsets the spice from the seasoning blend. Here it adds a mild, spicy contrast to the sweet mangos in the salt rim. Find it either in the seasoning aisle or with Mexican ingredients at your grocery store. Tajin® is a Mexican seasoning blend of chili peppers, lime and sea salt and is often used to enhance the flavor of fruits like watermelon or mango. If needed feel free to substitute simple syrup with agave nectar. Store it, refrigerated in an airtight container for up to two weeks in advance. This is also beneficial since you want it to cool before mixing it into the drink so it doesn’t melt the frozen drink. Make the simple syrup ahead of time to cut down on prep. Simple syrup is made by boiling equal parts sugar and water to form a sticky, smooth syrup that will mix easily into cocktails. Margaritas have always been one of my favorite drinks, especially the fruity ones.Ingredients in a Mango Margarita Simple syrup Today’s recipe for a Strawberry Mango Margarita makes a nice big pitcher that you can share with your friends on a warm summer day. And besides, these cocktails also call for fruity mango, giving the drink an uber-sweet, slightly creamy appeal. Hopefully you guys will find a few drinks along the way that you like and can sip on this summer. Strawberry margaritas are almost as much of a staple as the classic lime margarita, but not quite. A few times a month I am going to share a new cocktail, sangria, margarita or other drink recipe that my husband creates & I learn to make–so stay tuned! I am getting bartending lessons from my husband in an attempt to learn how to mix up some yummy drinks for all of those summer guests I plan on having over. But–I am turning over a new leaf and things are about to change! My cocktail making skills consist of things like cranberry & vodkas or pouring a margarita mix from Costco into a glass with a lime wedge and salt (don’t judge!). Throughout my college years I was a waitress but never a bartender. When warm weather months roll around at my house our favorite thing to do is sit on our back porch and grill, sip a nice mason jar of sangria and watch Will run circles around our yard! Amen to children that aren’t restrained to the four walls of my small house! I married an ex-bartender which makes my happy hours that much happier! And now that I am no longer pregnant I can enjoy a cocktail here and there. Strawberry Mango Margarita is a fruity, refreshing margarita that is perfect for a warm summer day.
